Meet the Company…

This February Half Term, we are delighted to be working in partnership with St Helens Libraries to present a week of events showcasing the best theatre for children and families.  We’ll be welcoming the fantastic Eco Drama to Eccleston Library on Monday 17th February with their uplifting show for families, The Whirlybird.

Meet the Company…

Eco Drama are Scotland’s leading eco-friendly theatre company and are passionate about making quality theatre and creative learning experiences for children and young people which nurture a sense of curiosity, wonder and care for our natural world and remind us we are part of an amazing living planet.

Founded in 2007, their theatre productions, projects and workshops are delivered in schools, theatres, community venues and festivals across Scotland, touring in an electric car and eco van run on recycled waste cooking oil, reducing CO2 emissions by 85%. Their work explores how we can use the power of the arts to inspire and support people of all ages to take positive, practical action for the natural environment and to date they’ve worked with 70,000 children and young people and their communities.

“This is, certainly a theatre company to watch. Not just for its charming productions and creative workshops, but for the positive message about sustainability they are sending to our young community“. Lynn Gilmour, Children in Scotland

The Whirlybird at Eccleston Library – Monday 17th February 1.00pm

An uplifting theatre show for children aged 3-7, featuring movement, music, bird song, puppetry and lots of things that spin!

In a cosy nest, two birds look skyward and get ready for their maiden flight. While flying comes easy for Bird, Whirlybird just can’t get the hang of it. After many failed attempts, inspiration is found in a very special flying seed.

The Whirlybird is a funny, playful and moving piece of theatre about learning to fly, encouraging one another and finding joy and inspiration in nature.
