Meet the Company…
This February Half Term, we are delighted to be working in partnership with St Helens Libraries to present a week of events showcasing the best theatre for children and families. We are beyond excited that Storyteller extraordinaire, Gav Cross will be returning to St Helens to tell us some Twisted Tales for Terrible Children at Parr Library on Wednesday 19th February.
Silly! Hilarious! Entertaining! Cheeky! Amazing! Funny!
These are just a few of the words our audiences used to describe Gav when he last came to St Helens in October 2019.
Gav Cross is a Storyteller, Show Off and Chief Idiocy Wrangler
He does many varied things, no two weeks are the same! Being diverse gives Gav many chances to make links across the two worlds of creativity and the development of services for children with Special Educational Needs and their families.
Families in St Helens came to hear his Traditional Tales with a Twist during our Big Imaginations Festival and we think it’s safe to say that everyone had an amazing time. So, we’re absolutely thrilled that he’s coming back for our special Storytelling Festival this month and what better place to hear some Twisted Tales for Terrible Children, than in the perfect place for stories come to life…the library.
Scratch the surface of all the tales we have heard since childhood and we find they are dark, nasty and full of dubious intention… A slight twist reveals the terrible, the silly and the downright incredible ’truths’ hidden in plain sight.
Gav Cross brings these old fables to life again vividly. You’ll have heard these stories before but not told this way!
An hour of nonsense and nastiness that will trigger giggles and gasps, with the added risk of ruining your childhood forever…
